Founded in 1993, Petroyag continues its operations as a group that meets 22% of Turkey’s industrial oil market, exports to more than 40 countries, and has facility investments in different regions of the world. Providing information that four different companies, which have continued to develop in their sectors over the past six years, have come together under the Petroyag Group umbrella, Petroyag Board Member Serra Soysal Koyuncu notes that they closed 2021 with 48 thousand tons in sales and a turnover of 81 million dollars. Stating, “For us, the main market is exports. We have achieved significant growth in exports over the past three years. We foresee breaking our record again in 2022,” Serra Soysal Koyuncu adds that they will focus their expansion strategy on acquiring know-how. We spoke with Serra Soysal Koyuncu about Petroyag’s success story and new-term business plans.

“WE ARE ABOUT TO COMPLETE OUR FAMILY CONSTITUTION”

“We have placed institutionalization at the top of our priority goals to ensure our group can continue to serve and stand strong for many years. We want a structure that will continue with its own culture and values, independent of individuals. We are preparing a family constitution to ensure the healthy transfer of our group to the 3rd generation and the proper planning of the transition from the 1st generation to the 2nd generation, and it is now in the final stages. Our board of directors progresses with the support of our two highly valuable independent board members. At the same time, we have an executive committee composed of professionals. In my view, the more initiative the professionals working in a company can take and the more they can put their hands under the stone without hesitation, the more institutionalized that company is.”
