Petroyag on the Road to Becoming a Global Company

In 2010, Petroyag ranked among the top 500 in the “Anatolian Tigers” list, and today it is among the top three in its sector.

From its initial sales of 200 tons in its first year, the company has expanded into international markets, reaching 38,000 tons today. Its goal for the next five years is to achieve an annual sales volume of 70,000 tons. Most recently, the company became the first Turkish firm to win a tender in the field of transformer oils.

When Ünal Soysal founded Petroyag in 1993 in a 20-square-meter office in the industrial zone of Gebze, he says he could hardly believe how far they would come, describing it as “like a dream.” Learning the business from industry giants right after graduating, and accurately identifying the growing demand for industrial oils at the time, were the key factors that brought him to where he is today.

Since its establishment, Petroyag and Ünal Soysal have always set their targets with one- and three-year plans, despite operating profitably from the start. With a current team of 48 employees, founder Ünal Soysal states that once their current new investments are completed, they plan to pursue an aggressive growth strategy.
