PETROYAĞ’S NEW COMPANY TO FOCUS ON NICHE PRODUCTS THAT ARE NOT CURRENTLY PRODUCED IN TURKEY

Petroyağ’s new company ProilOleo Chemicals aims to produce niche products that are not currently produced in Turkey.

KOCAELİ – Petroyağ, a key actor in the industrial oils sector, aims to produce niche products with its new company ProilOleo Chemicals.

Ünal Soysal, Chairman of the Board of Petroyağ ve Kimyasallar Sanayi AŞ, stated that they launched their new company ProilOleo Chemicals at the 7th International Chemistry Group Expo that was held in the previous days. Established one year ago, ProilOleo Chemicals focuses on organic chemicals and lubricating oils. About their new company, Soysal said: “The 7th International Chemistry Group Expo was the first show where ProilOleo Chemicals was launched both in Turkey and abroad. The expo significantly met our expectations for promotion, thus we were glad to be a participant to this event in the previous years. Soysal stated that they are planning to provide fully organic chemicals and lubricating oils to Turkey by importing necessary materials and blending them with value added components in Turkey. He said, “We will apply Petroyağ’s primary philosophy in this company. We will focus on niche products and enter into special application areas.” Underlining that they attached great importance to R&D work in the past year, Soysal noted that the company will gain popularity in Turkey in a short period of time with locomotive products. “We have a highly modern facility in Gebze Organized Industrial Zone. We can meet the needs of both our companies. We will provide goods and services to industrialists with our special blends. In the next period, we may establish another facility abroad to operate in another field,” says Soysal.

“We will adopt an expansionist policy with organic products”

Indicating their biggest goal for 2017 as exports, Soysal said: “We want to increase our volume of exports by allocating all our investments and resources for exports. We are already a big player in Turkish industry, and we will follow an expansionist policy with organic products. But due to the current conjuncture in Turkey, we will try to protect ourselves and promote the products of our new structure without taking too much risk. We are aiming to grow by protecting our current position and current customers.” Commenting on the present situation in the chemical sector, Soysal underlined that production and innovation must advance in Turkey, particularly in the chemical sector.
